Aaron - 2 Months

Age:

Two months old! 

(As of August 8th.)

Stats:

13 lbs 11 oz and 23.75 inches long. Aaron is 79th percentile in weight, and 80th percentile in height. He's a big boy! EJ was about the same weight when he was five months old.

Wears:

Aaron wears some 3 month clothes, but they're a tight fit! It's time to get out the 3-6 month sizes. He's in size 1 diapers, but is ready for size 2. We have a lot of size 1s, so we've stuck with them a little longer than we would have otherwise.

Says:

Aaron has just started making baby sounds in the past two weeks or so. He coos and babbles and has giggled a time or two.

Sleeps:

A lot! Aaron doesn't have a super set schedule yet, but he's a pretty good sleeper. He eats at 10 or 11 pm and sleeps until 3 or 4am, then wakes up for good at 7am. He naps on and off throughout the day, and I can always count on him sleeping if I wear him. He's not a big fan of sleeping in his bed; he much prefers cuddling with Mom or Dad. For a few nights he would sleep in his bassinet, but now he's back to insisting on being with me. EJ was the same way at this age, so we're not worrying about it. Plus, we don't mind cuddling sleeping babies! 

Eats:

Breastmilk and formula. He breastfeeds 4-5 times during the day and as much as he wants at night, and usually has about 5 bottles during the day and sometimes one at night. He drinks four ounce bottles. The majority of his nutrition comes from formula at this point, but he gets all the milk I have. 

Loves:

Being held! Aaron loves cuddling and being held, just like EJ. He's super snuggly and sweet. He's also really into his play mat right now. He likes staring up at the toys. 

Dislikes:

Bath time! He does not enjoy baths, but I think he's starting to grow out of it. He doesn't like being put down, and isn't a big fan of tummy time. He's still not super into diaper changes, but he doesn't scream the entire time like he used to. He also hates the car! He's getting better, but don't drop below 35mph or dare stop the car or he freaks out. We learned early on that drive thrus are a no go with this kid!

Plays:

He likes his playmat and toys with blinking lights. He can't hold toys yet, but he plays with his hands and chews on them. He likes to look at us and smile while we make funny noises. 

Aaron & EJ:

Aaron seems to love it when EJ gives him attention. EJ tends to be a little rough (we're working on it!), but Aaron is rarely bothered. He lets EJ get away with a lot! It'll be really fun in another couple months when they can interact more.
