The Botanical Building at Balboa Park

EJ is an experienced Balboa Park visitor, but he'd never been inside the Botanical Building before, so it was the perfect place to take Courtney.

EJ loves Courtney!

A San Diego style greenhouse - no glass necessary!

Orchids are my favorite!  They remind me of our wedding.

The Botanical Building is one of my new favorite places.

We saw these crazy street performers again.

Heading home.

Family

Earlier this month, EJ’s Aunt Serenity, Uncle Matt, and cousin Vivi came to visit!  (There was a little preview of this in the Balboa Park post.)  They moved from California to Rochester, New York last May, so we were very excited to get to see them again, especially Vivi, who was just a baby when we saw her last.  Now she’s a walking, talking toddler!  We had a fun week going to the beach, the playground, and Balboa Park, and spending time with Serenity, Matt, Vivi, and Pete and Serenity’s cousin Hollis and her husband, Tony.  Thanks for coming to meet EJ, Matt and Serenity!

It was a beautiful day at Cardiff State Beach.

Vivi's first time at the beach.

Babies born to such pale parents instinctively know how to hide from the sun.

Hollis and Tony.  EJ loved cuddling with Aunt Hollis!

Cousins!  One cousin down, ten to meet for EJ.

Balboa Park

EJ saw Balboa Park for the first time today when we went for a walk with Pete's sister Serenity, her husband Matt, and their adorable daughter Vivi.  We ran into some unusual street performers, and Peter took some pretty pictures with our new camera.

I love family pictures because we don't have that many yet.

The Della Portas

We took a quick bottle break, which turned out to be very entertaining because we took it near these people:

They were... unique.  I tried to upload a video, but it didn't work.  Rest assured: you are missing out.
