The 4th of July

Happy 4th of July! It was Aaron's first one, and our first one in our new house. The 4th of July is a big deal in our neighborhood (which we took advantage of last year), so we were very excited to experience it living right by all the fun.

Pete ran the Scripps Ranch 4th of July Fun Run with the boys. 

Since we live in the parade staging area, our Stroller Strides friends met up at our house to decorate their strollers before marching in the parade. We just watched the parade because I'm still recovering from having Aaron, but we'll be out there walking in it next year!

EJ's First 4th of July

     

          Happy 4th of July!  We wanted to make EJ's first one special, so we met up with with friends and took advantage of the 4th of July festivities in our neighborhood.  We signed up for our first Scripps Ranch 4th of July Fun Run and watched the Scripps Ranch 4th of July Parade in the morning before heading home for nap time.  Then, we barbecued and met up with some other friends for fireworks.  There's a great fireworks spot on our hill where you can see seven firework displays going off throughout the county.  The closest one was near enough that we could see it well, but far enough that EJ wasn't scared.  It was a perfect first 4th of July! 

We spent the morning with EJ's buddy Andrew (a familiar face around here) and his parents, Loralie and James.
