The Farm - Part 2
Learning very important things like how to use an iPad from Victor.
Taking a nap with Hazy the farm cat.
Katie got bitten by two wasps, but in the process she saved her baby cousins from getting bitten. She's a hero!

A Very Belated Nine Months
EJ will be ten months old in less than ten days, but it's never too late for a nine month update, right? Right! I blame it on his nine month doctor's appointment being a few weeks after he turned nine months. What fun is an update with no stats to go with it?
At his nine month well baby checkup, EJ weighed 18 lbs 5 oz (!!) and was 26.5 inches long. He was right around the 50th percentile for his adjusted age (just over seven months at the time of his appointment). His weight was at the 22nd percentile for his actual age and his head circumference was at the 26th percentile, which is great! His height still isn't on the growth charts yet for his actual age, but he'll get there. Babies are usually all caught up by the time they turn two years old.
Recently, it seems EJ has been learning, growing, and changing before our very eyes. He has six teeth now, and he sits, crawls, pulls up, and cruises. Before we went to the farm, he couldn't pull up on our couch, but by the time we got back, he had mastered it! After a week with his cousins, he's shouting and babbling much more, but still no mamas or dadas. He's getting stronger and braver, and things he couldn't do one day, he can do very well the next. He loves being read to, putting everything in his mouth, swimming, sand, and Trouble the cat.
Another (sad!) first is that EJ got sick for the first time. He had a very runny nose during the day and was congested at night when he was in bed. He was a little fevery and a lot miserable. It was so sad to watch our little guy not feel well! He got sick during our trip, so traveling and being on a weird sleeping schedule, flying in planes, recovering from the trip, cutting his sixth tooth, and being sick all coincided. It was a rough couple of days and nights! He's still showing symptoms, but hopefully he'll be all better soon.
Overall, EJ is doing wonderfully, and as always, we feel incredibly lucky and grateful. He's strong and healthy and we love him so! Happy nine (almost ten!) months, baby boy!
